A cable tie, also known as a quick fastener, is a fastening device used to fasten various objects, mainly electrical cables and wires. A common cable tie is made of plastic (nylon) and consists of two parts, a flexible, toothed shank and a head. The shank of the binder is inserted through the head so that the serrated part meets the tongue in the head, creating a loop, the free end of which is pulled further to tighten on the surface of the loop. The ratchet structure created by the shank and the tooth creates a bond that cannot be broken without destruction.
